Out of many, ONE. One nation under God. Indivisible. With Liberty and Justice For ALL.
Do you think the men who have fought for their world, to make it a better place, would recognize it now? Would they be grateful to have given up their lives for the selfish hate, ignorance, hostility and judgement that America has become? That the children of God have become? Are they glad to have given up their right to possibly have offspring who might have changed the world so we can all have a right to find another way to loathe our neighbor? Would they be so proud of the people in this nation who spend each and every day putting a concerted effort into making others miserable, ashamed and less than anything they are? Less than who God created them to be?
Knock Knock! There are dead men at your door asking why you are wasting the most precious gift of all. Life. Their life. The life of Christ. Your life. Why do we squander the very thing that God gave us such a limited amount of? Time. Life. And…remember the blood of Christ, that poured out on the CROSS for each of us? When His grace fell to the ground in that blood, the deed was done and the future of mankind now had a different trajectory.
Amazing Grace. How sweet the sound. YES. For all of us; in our pettiness, our squabbles, our stinky human nature that thinks it has a right to judge anyone for everything. That person. Christ died for it. God literally watched His son die. He could have stopped it. Anytime. After all, HE IS GOD. Can you imagine His pain at the suffering of His only Son? For us? Humans? These humans? I am not worthy of that sacrifice. None of us are. But that pure blood, without spot or wrinkle, is worthy. And, it makes US worthy. If we accept it and let the blood of Christ wash us clean. Jesus washed the disciples feet. Why did He do that? It certainly wasn’t because he was afraid they might track covid into the house. Why did the greatest Man who ever lived kneel at the feet of those who were imperfect? For the same reason He died. So we could see Our Father.
The hymn Amazing Grace says “When we’ve been there, ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun, we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than when we first begun.”
Think about that line, truly inspired by God. Think. All of our days are all of our days, whether spent in this life or the next.
Eternity is at stake. Eternity. Forever. It is up to us to decide how to spend it. It is OUR decision. Just like the soldiers who died to give us free America, Christ died to give us life everlasting. Our purpose here is laid out clearly, we must better our fellows and our fellowship with each other and choose the path of righteousness. Of right standing with God. He didn’t die so we could choose the path of judgement, indignation, fear, condemnation, hate and things that make us miserable. We choose to decide to make each day count and quit giving the upper hand to the enemy; whether that enemy be the Devil himself, manifested in our words and deeds, or our pride in refusal to acknowledge that a Greater Power is in control. We get to decide to decide. We get to decide how to handle things we can’t handle.
The only way is to get on our knees and be open to what God wants us to do. Stop thinking you are not enough. Yes, we aren’t enough, but He gave us the only way to be enough. Through Him. We cannot afford to waste another minute on the things that are dividing. Not one more minute. We can’t waste all the sacrifices that have been made on our behalf. We need to put down foolish pride, because we will get nowhere if we don’t. If we fall, let it be at the feet of Jesus. That is it. We bow to no man.
It’s very easy to become a child of God. And painless. I promise. What do you have to lose?
It is tempting to think that what we are going through is unique. We feel the need to “explain” our behavior to the Lord when we pray. He already knows. Jesus spent 40 days in the desert when he was a man and Satan used every wile to tempt Him away from His Father. He was in agony, so nobody knows better what we are going through at this time. Nobody. We are tempted to give up hope, to forsake loved ones, or believe that they have forsaken us and left us standing alone. That is a lie and if you believe it then you are sinning. Pride is a sin. Believing lies doesn’t make them The Truth. And, it doesn’t matter how many people believe it with you. Period. The lie is still the lie.
