I had the following e-mail in my box this morning. They are trying to pass legislation that has to make it illegal to prevent the federal government from housing illegals on Federal property. Can you believe this? I had never heard of it. Have you? We have to legislate our Federales to keep them from doing things that are so out of control and over the top, with total disregard to their constituents. Oh, and good luck getting that to pass. So, just plan on the Feds spreading their border locusts to any land ‘they’ control…like that National Forests or BLM. There is a LOT of federally owned land in my Idaho. Too much if you ask me. Private property rights are one of the last bastions of the free.
"The bill, H.R.5283, would specifically prohibit federal funding from being used to provide housing for illegal immigrants on any land under the jurisdiction of the Federal Land Management agencies, including the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Forest Service.”
According to Ballotpedia: The federal government owns around 620 million acres of land (about 27 percent) of the 2.27 billion acres of land in the United States. Around 92 percent of federally owned acres are in 12 Western states.[1][2]
Four federal agencies—the U.S. National Park Service (NPS), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), and U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) within the U.S. Department of the Interior, and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) in the U.S. Department of Agriculture—oversee roughly 95 percent, or 608 to 610 million acres, of federal land.[1][2]
HIGHLIGHTS
Alaska had the most federal land (222.7 million acres) while Nevada had the greatest percentage of federal land within a state (80.1 percent).
Connecticut and Iowa tied for the lowest percentage of federal land at 0.3 percent each.
My e-mail from Vern:
“Under President Biden’s watch, the crisis on our southern border has gone from bad to worse.
Since the start of Biden’s presidency, there have been 6.4 MILLION ILLEGAL BORDER CROSSINGS with more than 1.7 MILLION KNOWN GOTAWAYS who evaded U.S. Border Patrol.
The cost of housing those illegals has overwhelmed local governments and caused a significant strain on American taxpayers.
In fact, major cities like New York City are expected to pay upwards of $12 billion over the next two years in housing costs alone for illegal immigrants.
Unfortunately, President Biden’s most recent solution to this disaster is turning a federal park into an encampment for unvetted migrants.
That is why I voted this week for the Protecting Our Communities from Failure to Secure the Border Act, which would prohibit the Biden administration from housing illegal immigrants within our national parks.
While it shouldn’t need to be said, our national parks are treasures for the American public to enjoy and should not be turned into tent cities.
Earlier this year, I also voted for legislation to resume construction of the border wall, end catch and release, strengthen and streamline the asylum process and significantly increase the number of CBP agents.
Read the article below and let me know if you agree that it wrong to turn America’s beautiful public spaces into shelters for those who break our laws and enter the country illegally.

House Passes Bill to Stop Federal Funds Being Used to House Illegal Immigrants
Michael Dorgan
A bill that would prevent federal funds from being used to house illegal immigrants on federal lands passed the House of Representatives on Thursday – although it is unlikely that the Senate will take up the legislation.
The bill, The Protecting Our Communities from Failure to Secure the Border Act of 2023, was introduced by Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., and passed 224–203. One member voted "present."
The bill aims to stop federal funds from being used to pay for migrant encampments in federal parks and to cancel the lease at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, New York, a controversial makeshift tent city that can house 2,000 migrants.
"Turning our federal parks into encampments for unvetted migrants from all over the world is unfair to surrounding communities and the taxpayers being forced to foot the bill while having their public spaces taken away," Malliotakis said in a statement.
"I've joined local and federal colleagues to use every legal and legislative tool at our disposal, from lawsuits to this legislation, to stop the Biden, Hochul and Adams Administrations from taking more open space from our citizens."
After the bill passed, Malliotakis called on Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., to pass the legislation in the Senate.
"It’s time for @SenSchumer to pass this & our Border Security Act to end this crisis bankrupting his own city!" she wrote.
It comes as major cities like New York City struggle to cope with an influx of illegal migrants. The cost to house illegal immigrants in New York City is expected to cost the taxpayer around $12 billion, and the city has already slashed its budget to pay for the crisis.
It is estimated that nearly 10 million people have entered the U.S. illegally under the Biden administration.
The bill, H.R.5283, would specifically prohibit federal funding from being used to provide housing for illegal immigrants on any land under the jurisdiction of the Federal Land Management agencies, including the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Forest Service.
Both Staten Island's Fort Wadsworth and Brooklyn's Floyd Bennett Field are included under this description, along with any other park in the Gateway National Recreation Area.
Before the vote, the White House came out in opposition to Malliotakis's bill.
The Office of Management and Budget said in a statement that the Administration strongly opposes H.R. 5283.
"The Administration opposes this legislation because it would significantly restrict the ability of the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture to make decisions regarding the appropriate uses of their lands and resources, even in emergency or other situations," the statement reads.

I could have sworn this land was your land and this land was my land. Seems there is a lot of their land as well. That wasn’t in the song.
They don't follow the law or give a rats ask about us!
Aside from taking my land and taking your land and making it their land…..did you know the VA is paying the hospital bills and medical expenses of the illegals? OUR military tax money is paying their medical bills! The VA is getting the bills and turning around and paying them.
And…..did you also know are our citizens are getting kicked out of federal housing so they can use that housing for the illegals?
They’ve done more than take my land and take your land and made it their land. They’ve done way more. 😔
