In One Small Town

Jason Aldean is making headlines. His song, Try That in a Small Town, has rocketed to the top of the charts, but shhhhh. Don’t tell. It might make you feel insurrection-ey. It has made Has-Beens ooze out of the woodwork to lecture Americans on how bad this song is, how racist it is. They talk about where the music video was filmed and how that site alone is beyond..well, it is just too much! CMT has pulled the music vid from their lineup, because, well…CENSORSHIP.

Helllooooo. We can make up our own minds. So, CMT for the trash!

Try That in a Small Town

IMHO, it has nothing to do with race. Give me a break. They play the race card every controversy. Old news.

The song is about community. It is about the riots and deliberate chaos sown in the summer of 2020 in the large cities. And, Jason says to the rioters and looters “Go ahead, try that in a small town.” I get it. I live in a small town. They would not have made it far.

One day, in the summer of 2020, a rumor started going around just such a small town. This town is across the border from a super liberal state. The rumor that gangs of ironically named anti-facists, or antifa and blm, were coming to their town to cause trouble that night. The community pages went nuts on social media. True story. I got it from someone who lives there and was part of the resistance.

By 6 o’clock, patriots lined the streets of that small town, in anticipation of unwanted visitors. Neighbors chatted with neighbors in the back of pickup trucks, dads sat with their kids in their vehicles, explaining what it means to be an American. This was their right to be here, defending all they hold dear, for the next generation. The Second Amendment was in plain view and the local police were happy to have solid citizens behind them. Those in attendance included dentists, doctors, local small businessmen, lawyers, ranchers, bikers and everyman.

In the height of the plandemic, the only ‘people’ in the safe and effective masks were the would-be looters, rioters and criminals. They rolled into town like they owned the place…then they looked around. They were met with people, average people, but it was just about everyone in town. Two forward blm and antifa scouting vehicles came into view and made a couple of passes down the main street and fled. Yes, that is right. They fled. Whipped and beaten before they even showed up, because the citizens of that small town, showed up. In droves.
