My Fellow Americans:
As I stand here before you, I know you are wondering why there is an upside down American flag behind me. I put it there so you will all know that I believe we are a country in great distress. The following notes in your program will give you the exact place to find the codification of purpose.
The United States official flag code from the Office of the Law Revision Counsel of the United States House of Representatives clearly states:
I do believe the word EXTREME cannot be overstated. As a citizen who has seen American prosperity crumple into a heap of despair, we are indeed a nation embroiled in an instance of extreme danger to life and property.
As our Founding Documents declare: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. ---
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, ---
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
I feel neither safety nor happiness as a ‘governed citizen’. I have not given my consent. Period. Period. Period.
As a citizen who is supposedly being ‘represented’ by someone I elected to ‘represent’ me, I am disenfranchised by this gorging group of elitist politicians. Politicians who are filling up the halls of MY Congress like a tidal wave of monstrous mendacity and grift that has become the rule rather than the exception.
It makes me outraged that the country I once loved and thought was the greatest in the world has become a parody. It has become a resource for the evil who suck it dry so there is absolutely no resemblance to the nation our Founding Fathers envisioned.
This nation was built upon God. It was founded by Godly, learn-ed and praying men; men who spent hours in prayer in St. Paul’s Chapel before they put their names to a document that would change the world. This would be a nation that would be the shining city upon the hill for the rest of the world to see. And now? Not so much.
Below our feet lay vast natural resources, so why do we need bow down before any other nation to get what we need to survive? It is already here. We The People, The Governed, give our consent. We give our consent to responsibly become self-sufficient once again. We give our consent to bring our troops home. We give our consent to kill the Hydra-Fed and stop its ever-growing glut. We consent to give the rights back to The States and MAKE THE FED SMALL AGAIN. We give our consent to fill our waterways and reservoirs with water that is not diverted by decree. We give our consent to fill our GAS tanks with fuel from under our feet. We give our farmers permission to be stewards of the land. We give our consent for independence. We consent to incandescent bulbs and American ingenuity. We give our consent to keep the Federal government in its place and out of our lives. We give consent for self-government. We give consent for The Constitution to be brought back into this nation. We give our consent that we are not to be judged on the color of our skin but on the content of our character.

I do not believe that government belongs in healthcare. The three letter agencies should all be abolished. We see what they did, conspiring together.
I believe that lobbying should be illegal and term limits imposed. We all see it, Big Gov! Do you think we are blind? You grind your unholy alliance with big P-Harma, unscrupulous contractors & foreign nations in our collective face. It needs to stop. It has to stop.
I do ask that our stolen tax dollars be used to protect and defend us against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Whether those enemies are domestic and reside in our very own Congress or are pouring over our borders, GET IT DONE.
I vote we get rid of automatic withholding, which is one of the worst acts of legislative tyranny known to man. If each person had to sit down and write a check for what is actually being ‘withheld’ by their employer, there would have been war a long time ago.
There are many Americans who now see that our trust was sorely misplaced in ‘government’ and we will never trust ‘them’ again. From the sham of a Food Pyramid to the Kill Shots, we know.
I believe in order to Make America Great Again, we have to have the guts to Take America Back Again. So, let’s do this.

I didn't know that about distress as reason for handing the flag upside down. Perhaps a trend could start - by July 4th we'd have upside down flags throughout the country and lots of people asking why?
Thank you for so quickly picking up the challenge and bringing your significant passion and intellect to it. I didn't know about the founders long hours of prayer before signing those documents either, but it doesn't surprise me. Quiet prayer and contemplation used to be a more common thing.
