Excellent, SadieJay! I love your father. He sounds like my mother! LOL!

And I have a feeling we take after them. Probably more than just a little!

Indeed. As my mother -- who departed way too soon, I'm sorry to say -- told me when I asked her what would I do without her, "You will be fine, my darling, because you are your mother's daughter."

I am so sorry you don't have your mama. If I were to make a bet, I would be willing to wager my whole stack of chips that those words have made you stronger than you ever thought you could be. ♥

You're right. It'd be impossible to tell you how many times I've thought of those words over the years.

The other thing that I remember when she first passed away is how crushing a grief it was. I read an article at the time about the loss of mothers and what it meant for daughters who were close to them. (My mother was the center of my world.) The woman writing it said that she found that she ended up missing her mother more the older she got and the longer she went without her. Feeling such pain I could not imagine that, but now nearly four decades later, (I was young and my mother was young -- 57) I know 𝑒𝑥𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑙𝑦 what she meant.

I am so sorry you lost your mom so early. SO SORRY. I know everyday that I am blessed to have my mom. She will be 95 on September 15th. She lives independently and is a wonderful woman. My dad passed 17 years ago. My sister and I both said we are so glad he flew away first, because we got to know our mother without his huge shadow. She blossomed.

" . . . my college writing instructor told me to just give up because I had no real talent and “just didn’t get it.”

One has to be very careful of the opinions of the self-appointed, self-anointed Class of Thought Leaders and their thoughtlessly directed opinions.

I deal with this class in these essays.

Thank you. I will check it out. Where were you 40 years ago?? ; )

One has to think. I was 33 then and here in Melbourne, Australia.

Working on operating systems. Control Data Cybers, not to be confused with CyberDyne.

Hardly anyone had heard of Melbourne, unless one recalled the film On The Beach and few did.

______________

Julian Assange, also in systems, gave Australia more visibility, along with the sycophantic dispositions of The Federal Government to Washington diktats, a whole other story and one I touch on slightly in the latest Substack essay.

Yes, I could have used some wise words regarding professors 40 years ago. ♥

When I broke my front tooth at age 10, my mom told me I was ruined and no one would ever want to marry me; yet, here I am, happily married having raised (with my husband) 7 kids in this house...youngest is 18. So, she was wrong...

No dentist where you were??

Haha yes there was! And she quickly took me to get my tooth perfectly mended. I love m’y momma, but she was a bit high-strung. Haha

Clearly you came sporting other attributes as appealing as your teeth . . .

Haha! Thank you, darling...she rapidly got my front left tooth perfectly repaired, but I don’t think I would have had too much trouble. Men are wiser than many think! 💗

"Men are wiser than many think!"

Many women would disagree. Well, some at least.

My daughter, who now resides in The Land Of The Free, would say otherwise.

Anyhow, by your own admissions, you have safely ensured that The Human Race, such as it is, shall not perish any time soon.

Haha yes we have definitely added to the population “problem!” Welp, the “many women” who would disagree may not be as clever or free or wise as they believe themselves to be. 😘

Indeed - The repression of women remains widespread.

My daughter read all my books which included French Feminism.

They make American feminists look like Krispy Kreme donuts - sweet on the outside, light and airy within.

____________

I don't touch on Feminism matters in my Substack essays and it's still mostly men who run the show - high functioning, self-serving sociopathic types but entirely on the normal spectrum, by and large. The women who make it into those circles come more concentrated - Margaret Thatcher, Hillary Clinton, Madelaine Albright, to name a few.

They are mentioned in some of my Substack essays on The Decline of The West.

If one's favourite broadcasters do not leave one discomforted, should one by paying any attention to them?

Entertainments is The Politics of Distraction.

____________

The Russians, or the Chinese for that matter, need not plot the Decline of The West.

Their best maneuver - do nothing.

The Western Elite Leadership will do it for them.

Discussed here in lengthy, abstruse and eclectic prose across several essays that will leave the reader visibly aged, yet possibly far wiser although admittedly that is entirely speculative . . . https://les7eb.substack.com

“They can’t very well tell us to stop practicing hygiene and get us onto taking a crap in the street again. Oh, wait. Maybe that is why it is happening in the big cities. To bring on the diseases that come with filth and rats.” <- Wow! I never thought of it that way! 😂😭😂😭
